Research/Creative Interests

My research focuses on contemporary choreography and somatic practices, with an emphasis on inclusive education. I explore wellness practices in dance pedagogy, the impact of imagery on proprioception and perception in teaching and performance, and the effects of ungrading practices in educational settings.

What types of “data” do you commonly use?

I commonly use the following types of data: observational, self-reported, intervention measures, choreographic analysis, video recordings, interviews, audience feedback, choreographic scores, artistic collaboration.

I most often utilize the following types of data analyses: thematic, movement, content, performance, comparative, correlational, descriptive statistics, interpretative phenomenological

What types of collaborations are you open to?

I’m open to collaborations with students, faculty, and staff, as partnering with others is at the core of all my recent research projects and approaches. Collaboration enriches my work, and I value the diverse perspectives and contributions that come from working together.

  • I’m excited to work with students from all majors, but I have a particular interest in mentoring those in the arts and humanities.
  • I am especially committed to supporting students from historically marginalized populations, and I strive to create an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are celebrated and integrated into our collaborative research.
