Elon University welcomes candidates and nominations in its search for the next provost and vice president for academic affairs. Elon’s provost is a member of the university’s senior staff and reports to President Connie Ledoux Book. The provost serves as the university’s chief operations officer and chief academic officer, managing internal administrative operations of the university and acting in the absence of the president. The provost provides leadership and direction for the long-range planning process, the university’s annual priorities for action and the annual budget process.

Elon’s search is being conducted by a 23-member search committee with the assistance of executive search firm AGB Search. For best consideration, nominations and applications should be submitted by September 1, 2022. Candidate evaluations and off-site interviews will take place in September and campus visits in early October, with the goal of reaching a Search Committee recommendation of finalists by mid-October.
