Elon University welcomed candidates and nominations in its search for the next provost and vice president for academic affairs. Elon’s provost is a member of the university’s senior staff and reports to President Connie Ledoux Book. The provost serves as the university’s chief operations officer and chief academic officer, managing internal administrative operations of the university and acting in the absence of the president. The provost provides leadership and direction for the long-range planning process, the university’s annual priorities for action and the annual budget process.
Elon’s search is being conducted by a 20-member search committee with the assistance of executive search firm Witt/Kieffer. Nominations and applications were accepted through the end of March 2019. Candidate evaluations, off-site interviews, and campus interviews were scheduled for late April and May, with the goal of reaching a Search Committee recommendation after Commencement on May 24, 2019.
