Emergencies

Call 9-1-1

In an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately from a campus phone or your cell phone. 9-1-1 operators will assist you and send appropriate emergency responders if needed.

Important tips to remember:

  • Do not attempt to send a text to 9-1-1.
  • Stay calm and help others remain calm.
  • When you are reporting an emergency situation, give concise, accurate answers to the 9-1-1 operator.
  • Do not hang up until told to do so.

For a list of locations, look for “Emergency Phones” under the Emergency Response Guide.

Non-Emergencies

If in doubt, always dial 9-1-1.

For crimes or concerns that are not an immediate threat to you, someone else, or University property, the following options are available:

Campus Safety and Police

Report crimes (emergency or non-emergency) or concerns to Campus Safety and Police by calling (336) 278-5555, alerting a police officer or security guard on patrol, visiting our office (Oaks Commons Bldg 216, N. Williamson Ave.), or using any of the emergency telephones located throughout campus.

Safeline

(336) 278-3333

Safeline is a confidential phone-line for Elon community members who have experienced, are experiencing or have questions about identity-based bias, discrimination or harassment as well as sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking.

RAVE Guardian Safety App

We encourage all Elon University community members to download the RAVE Guardian Safety App. RAVE gives users two-way communication direct to Campus Safety & Police. Students and employees can share information anonymously (if desired) through text, photo, or video directly from their smart phones. Additionally, app users can receive important broadcast notifications sent by the Campus Safety and Police. With a built- in Safety Timer feature, students also will be able to invite others to “virtually escort” them by monitoring their location on a map.
