Efforts Addressing Gender-Based Violence, Bias, and Harassment

Elon University recognizes the serious and negative impact that acts of interpersonal violence, including sexual violence, have on individuals and the University community. Elon University does not tolerate acts of interpersonal violence, which includes gender-based violence, sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. To this end, the University has developed a comprehensive intervention, response, and support strategy to address acts of interpersonal violence. These activities are coordinated through the Violence Response initiatives in the Department of Student Health and Wellness, Gender and LGBTQIA Center, Title IX Office in cooperation and collaboration with the Sexual Assault and Gender Issues Committee (SAGIC). Students seeking resources and support should contact Felicia Cenca the Coordinator for Violence Response for confidential support or Mike Neiduski the Title IX Coordinator for reporting. To learn more about prevention efforts or to get involved, contact Becca Bishopric Patterson the Assistant Director for the Gender & LGBTQIA Center visit our webpage.

In addition to the multi-pronged efforts to address gender-based violence, Elon’s Office of Inclusive Community Development coordinates efforts to respond to incidents of bias and/or harassment including those around gender, gender identity, and gender expression. If you would like to report an incident of bias and/or harassment you can do so with the Report Bias form, and if you have any questions about the Office of Inclusive Community Development you can contact the Director Leigh-Anne Royster.
