Challenge Course – Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?

The low ropes course is great for organizations at any stage of development. No special skills or physical abilities are required- this is an experience that is available to anyone!

All participants must sign a waiver of liability. Participants under the age of 18 must have their form signed by a parent or guardian.

How much does it cost?

The Elon Challenge is a free resource for Elon University groups of up to 30 participants. A nominal fee will be charged groups larger than 30 members to cover the cost of additional facilitators.

How long does it take?

Basic low ropes teambuilding events last around 3.5 – 4 hours.

When can we come?

Most programs are conducted on Friday afternoons or anytime during the weekend. Weekday programs can also be arranged, based on facilitator availability.

What do I need to bring?

  • In addition to your signed waiver, you will definitely want a bottle of water!
  • Wear comfortable, athletic-style clothing that is appropriate for the weather (dress in layers)
  • Closed-toe shoes are required; no flip flops, sandals, or crocs allowed!
  • Most participants choose to bring insect repellant and sunscreen. Low ropes course elements are located in both wooded and sunny areas!
