Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. Hopefully this list helps to answer a question you have. Also feel free to contact us at 336-278-7529 or recwell@elon.edu with any questions about our facilities, programs, or services.

What facilities do students, faculty, and staff have access to?

All current Elon students, faculty, and staff have access to every recreation & wellness facility on campus during regular hours of operation. Additionally, Phoenix Card holders that are not students, faculty, and staff have access to the Koury Center and South Gym. To access the facility, simply present your Phoenix Card at the entrance or welcome desk at any facility.

What are the hours of operation for each facility?

Facility hours are posted on our Hours of Operation page. Any variations to regular hours of operation are also posted on the Campus Recreation & Wellness homepage, the RecWell app, and social media.

Can I bring a guest into Campus Recreation & Wellness facilities?

Yes! Any Phoenix Card holder can bring up to two guests at a time. Guests must present a photo identification when checking into the facility.

How do I reserve a Campus Recreation & Wellness facility?

Many Campus Recreation & Wellness facilities can be reserved by students, faculty, and staff. Students must reserve facilities through Phoenix Connect and faculty/staff must reserve facilities through 25Live. Our full facility reservation policies can be found on the Facilities Policies & Procedures page.

Are lockers available for use?

Yes! There are daily and long-term lockers available in the Koury Center. Any items in daily use lockers must be removed by the end of the day. Long-term lockers can be reserved for the academic year – contact recwell@elon.edu to reserve a long-term locker.

What is the difference between Intramurals and Club Sports?

Intramurals are recreational leagues and tournaments for Elon students to participate with other Elon students. Participants can form their own teams, or be added to existing teams.  Leagues last approximately a half semester, with 1-2 games per week. Club Sports are student organizations that have multiple practices per week. Many clubs compete locally, regionally, and/or nationally against other colleges and universities. The best way to learn about a specific club is to contact the club directly – current club contact information can be found on the Club Sports website or PhoenixCONNECT.

Does Campus Recreation & Wellness offer group exercise classes?

Yes! We offer several classes per week during the academic year. To attend classes, students, faculty, and staff must download the Elon RecWell app to register for classes. For more information, please visit the Group Exercise website. Faculty and staff may also participate in Fac/Staff Wellness classes.

Does Campus Recreation & Wellness offer personal training?

Yes! All of our student personal trainers hold a national certification and can help you to achieve your personal fitness and wellness goals. Check out our Personal Training website for more information.

Do I need previous experience and/or my own equipment to go on an Elon Outdoors trip?

Our trip leaders are onsite for all trips and are able to assist participants, so you can enjoy a trip even if you have no previous experience. We also have equipment that is available for rent if you do not have your own. Visit the Elon Outdoors website for information about upcoming trips and equipment rental.

Do you have camping equipment available for rental?
