Lactation rooms are available for faculty, staff, students and visitors to Elon University. Elon University provides private, secure, and clean lactation rooms to support nursing mothers. You can find them in three buildings located across campus.

How to Access

  • Moseley Center Room 110
    • Key can be acquired from Moseley Front Desk.
    • This location includes a sink.
  • Whitley Room 103
    • Enter Whitley from North facing entrance (towards E. Haggard).
      • 103 is first room on the right.
      • Contact Patti Gibbons at pgibbons@elon.edu to check availability.
  • Schar Center Room 205
    • Take elevator or stairs to second floor of Schar Center.
    • Room is marked with signage and can be locked from the inside. No key is needed.

Note: Breast pumps are not provided.

All rooms have the following amenities:

  • Private lockable room
  • Comfortable chair and table
  • Refrigerator and microwave
  • Wipes and paper towels
  • Close proximity to restrooms

Contact your supervisor for help determining a schedule and location that works. If you are unable to resolve satisfactorily, please contact HR for support.

Supervisor Guidelines

Supervisors should work with employees to schedule reasonable break time for the employee’s need to express milk. If you have questions regarding lactation breaks, please contact HR.
