Elon University recognizes the importance of supporting and fostering a diverse and inclusive campus community. As such, Elon strives to develop and expand relationships with diverse vendors and make them an integral part of the way we do business. We recognize that an environment of diversity and inclusion will ultimately lead to a process that provides the best value for the university.
Our vendor diversity efforts allow us to engage with businesses owned by minorities, women, LGBTQ individuals, and veterans. By doing so, we have the potential to enhance competition, create added value, and provide more innovative solutions for the betterment of the university.
Elon University has adopted a process to maximize procurement opportunities with more diverse vendors, both locally and nationally, in obtaining goods and services for the university as outlined in the Boldly Elon strategic plan. All departments working with vendors are encouraged to include diverse vendors in sourcing opportunities where applicable.
By increasing the competitive landscape for university business opportunities, departments can achieve best total value when contracting for goods and services and realize valuable cost savings, which can be leveraged for more strategic initiatives.
