Class of 2024

Colby Bradford is a Strategic communications major from Beverly, Massachusets. During his time at Elon, he has been Co-President of College Coaches, a peer mentorship program, and a member of Elon’s premier A Cappella group Twisted Measure. In his free time, he was a Barista at Oak House and Starbucks, so if you see him ask him to make you a latte! He is expected to graduate in Spring 2024 and has enjoyed his time in the Ledership Fellows program immensely.

Aiden Bradshaw is from Essex, Vermont. Throughout her high school career Aiden participated in clubs such as Student Council, Athletic Leadership Council, Spanish Honors Society, and National Honor Society. She also played soccer for four years, and loved being the Girls’ Basketball Manager her senior year. Aiden has worked at an after school program with kids grades k-5th for two years and plans to continue when she goes back home. In her free time, Aiden enjoys snowboarding, spending time with her family, and going to the beach. At Elon, Aiden plans to study International Business with a minor in Leadership Studies. Finally, Aiden is looking forward to joining clubs here at Elon and finding volunteer opportunities around the community.

Jasmyn Brown is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She is passionate about social justice, and started a club at her high school called “Bridge the Gap” to bridge the cultural gap. She also enjoys reading and playing tennis. She hopes to go to law school and become an immigration lawyer to help people who have come from lesser circumstances to have a better life. Jasmyn is very goofy and enjoys watching cartoons like “Sofia the First” and “Trolls”. Jasmyn looks forward to the next four years at Elon and is excited to participate in Mock Trial, Elon Volunteers, and Blacks Student Union.

Sydni Brown, born and raised in Holly Springs, North Carolina, is a first-year fellow double majoring in Communications Design and Journalism and minoring in Leadership studies. During her junior and senior years of high school, Sydni was in the leadership position of drum major for the marching band. She was also a part of the Black Student Alliance, Girl Up, and various National Honors Societies. At Elon University, Sydni is involved in The BSU, C.R.E.D.E, and the Society of Professionals Journalist. With her time at Elon, Sydni hopes to explore social activism and African American studies as possible double minors along with leadership studies.

Julian Bumper is from Marietta, GA. He is pursuing a double major in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Leadership Studies. In addition to being a Leadership Fellow, Julian has been blessed with the opportunity to play football at the collegiate level for the past 4 years. He is a running back for the Elon Phoenix.

Julian is a strong leader on and off the field and hopes to continue to be one throughout the rest of his time at Elon. In addition, he is an active member of FCA where he holds a leadership position. Julian is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he serves as the Vice President for the Sigma Delta Chapter here on campus. Julian is a silent leader, passionate about sports, his faith, family, and education.

Peter Cromie is originally from Northern Ireland but moved to Winston-Salem North Carolina when he was 10. In high school he was involved in Mock Trial as president and captain of his school, and captain of the North Carolina team at the national judicial competition, student government and politics volunteering on multiple political campaigns. At Elon peter had become a voting ambassador for Elon Votes, a member of the universities Pre-Law Fraternity Phi Alpha Delta and is involved in multiple other organizations. As a political science and policy studies double major Peter is passionate about politics and outside of school makes calls for political candidates and organizations in place to help educate people on upcoming elections. In his free time Peter enjoys photography, playing the drums, and spending time with his friends. Peter hopes that during his time at Elon and in the leadership fellows that he will be able to grow his leadership skills and become a more passionate and effective leader.

Hanna Engelhardt is from Long Island, NY who is currently studying Biology with minors in Leadership Studies, as well as Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies. In high school, Hanna served on Student Council as well as Student Government all four years and was Student Council President for whilst in her junior and senior year. She was also involved in Key Club, Compassion Without Borders, and Natural Helpers. She also founded the Bathroom Beautification Project at a local elementary school in her hometown where she facilitated the mural paintings around the mirrors of the girl’s bathrooms with inspirational and empowering quotes. She can’t wait to get involved with the Center for Leadership, Elon Feminists, Elon’s Pre-Health Society, Phoenix Phanatics, and Students for Peace and Social Justice. Hanna also can’t wait to take advantage of Elon’s amazing study abroad program. She is thrilled and incredibly honored to be a part of this extraordinary program for the next four years.

Jaid Green is from Wyckoff, New Jersey. She is a BFA Music Theatre major with minors in Dance and Leadership Studies. She is a dancer, singer, actress, choreographer, musician, and all-around creative person. In high school, Jaid was involved in many theatre and dance productions as a performer, choreographer, designer, and director, and she performed in original works and showcases outside of school. She also traveled to Denmark with the Chamber Choir and was the choreographer of an a capella group that she helped to start with her friends. She served as President of the Women’s Empowerment Club, completing projects such as Sexual Assault Awareness Education, artistic displays with feminist messages, and fundraising for various organizations. She hopes to be an advocate for diversity in the performing arts during her career. She wants to be a choreographer on Broadway, and hopes to increase female representation, and advocate for BIPOC, in roles such as directing, choreographing and producing. She can’t wait to see how she will learn and grow as a leader and artist throughout her Elon Education.

Bethany Griffin is from Chicago, IL and went to Timothy Christian High School. During high school Bethany was a part of several clubs and activities. She was on the Varsity Girls Basketball team and Varsity Track and Field. Her leadership skills excel as she was a stage manager for three musicals and three play productions. While in high school she was able to take a heavy interest into Psychology and plans to major into that field of study. Bethany also plans to continue to help others through community service organizations on campus. She is able to make strong connections through networking and being a listener to her peers.

Chase Gurey is from Alexandria, Virginia, which is right outside of Washington, D.C. As of now, he would like to study either Political Science or Policy studies with a minor in Leadership Studies and maybe French. In high school, Chase was heavily involved in Catholic Campus Ministry and a slew of community service projects. At Elon, Chase would like to get involved in Greek Life, Elon Volunteers, and the Elon Poll. Getting involved in the local community is very important to him, so Chase wants to seize any and all opportunities to learn more about Alamance County. Chase hopes to utilize Elon’s vast study abroad network and hopefully visit Northern Africa or France during his Junior year or maybe a j-term (or two). Outside of the classroom, Chase enjoys keeping up with politics, studying odd languages, and binge watching any Political Drama on Netflix.

Demetria Hall is from Greensboro, NC. She attended Grimsley High School and was very involved from being a member of the student council all four years of high school, a member of the Grimsley Vocal Music Show Choir and Magical Choral groups, and Treasurer of a club started with friends Women of Color in Action, was a varsity cheerleader her sophomore year, and was crowned the 2019 Homecoming Queen of Grimsley High School. She was very involved in her community as well-being an active member of Girl Scouts of America for 13 year, a counselor for five years at Safety Town, a summer camp teaching children ages 5-6 about staying safe in such a chaotic world, an active member of the church, and her as she calls “prized possession” Jack and Jill of America Inc., where she attended three leadership conferences, two leadership summits, one national summits, and served in numerous leadership positions and committees including Regional Teen Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Region. In Demetria’s free time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, listen to music, and travel.

Currently, Demetria is a biology major, but she’s interested in looking into psychology or communications. Along with her leadership minor, she is interested in obtaining an African American Studies minor and/or a music minor. Demetria has a positive attitude about Elon and is excited to plant her roots and get involved in the Elon Community.

Ethan Haqq from Grayslake, IL is currently pursuing a Political Science major with minors in both leadership studies and policy studies. In high school his interests ranged from leadership roles in choir, membership in student government, and the facilitation of charitable events. His passion for social justice led him to organize a charitable a cappella concert called “Acapallooza” which raised close to $3,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Ethan hopes to pursue a career in law after his time in college. In light of recent events, Ethan has become invested in learning more about the Black Lives Matter movement and becoming an ally to marginalized groups throughout the United States. Someday, he hopes to empower others as a member of the American Civil Liberties Union. He hopes to utilize his time at Elon to cultivate his leadership skills in order to better the lives of those around him. He is a firm believer in using failure as an opportunity for growth which has pushed him to reach outside of his comfort zones.

Chloe Higgins is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She plans on double-majoring in Political Science and Economics, in addition to pursuing a Leadership Studies Minor. In high school, she was the President of her DECA chapter, a founding member of the Community Empowerment and Leadership Club, a Math Team competitor, and played soccer. Simultaneously, she volunteered with local nonprofit organizations and coached recreational youth sports. At Elon, Chloe has joined the Yoga Club, Design for America, and Phoenix Phanatics. Furthermore, she has been elected the Secretary of the East Student Neighborhood Association and the Student Government Association Vice President for the Class of 2024. After Elon, she aims to attend law school.

Adam Horowitz is a Senior Leadership Fellow from Potomac, Maryland. Adam is a marketing major with a minor in leadership studies. In addition to Leadership Fellows, he is a campus representative for Fresh Prints, selling custom apparel to student organizations. Adam also mentors students through the Koenigsberger Learning Center to help students with study skills, time management, engaging with professors and making the best use of campus resources. Adam is currently running his Common Good Initiative as a head coach of College Coaches. He facilitates and manages this student-run organization that teaches clubs how to create and maintain successful mentorship programs.

Alex Ingram is an English Major from Fayetteville, NC. Alex helped co-create a social justice-oriented club at their high school and maintained leadership in it for several years. Currently living in the Gender & Sexualities LLC, Alex is actively taking part in Spectrum as well as many other LGBTQ+ focused groups and events.

Veda Karlsen-Heil from Anoka, Minnesota. Veda is pursuing a major in International and Global Studies and a minor in Leadership Studies. In high school, she held many leadership positions: President of the National Honors Society, President of District four DECA and Anoka DECA, President of FCCLA, Varsity Captain of the girls swim team, Secretary of Student Council, and President and Founder of Strong Women of Tomorrow. Veda has a strong passion for making global change. This is apparent, in her participation in the Silicon Valley Innovation Academy where she conceptualized a startup to help extract microplastics from the ocean. Veda is also an Odyssey Scholar and is currently tutoring local elementary children through The It Takes a Village Project. Veda is looking forward to getting involved with Limelight Records, Elon Volunteers, Club Swimming, and Club Climbing during her first year at Elon University.

Ethan Lane-Blake is from Accokeek, MD., who attended Archbishop Carroll High School. Ethan was active during high school. He was a member of his school student government for all four years of high school(his favorite position being acting as secretary), co-founder or his school’s Debate Team, involved in the school choir, track and field, a student ambassador, member of the “National Honors Society,” and a St. Augustine Scholar. In his free time, Ethan loves to read comic books, listen to music, and paint.

Ethan is currently a psychology major, with a minor in neuroscience and a leadership study minor. In the future, Ethan is excited to try new things, take on new adventures, and form new connections with both students and faculty.

Abby Langenkamp is a Senior Leadership Fellow from Houston, Texas. She serves as the Student Director of the Leadership Fellows. Abby is pursuing a BA in Strategic Communications with minors in German and Leadership Studies. In addition to Leadership Fellows, she is involved in Live Oak Communications, Elon’s student-run PR agency where she serves as the Assistant Branding Director. She also serves as the Vice President of Communications for her sorority. Her favorite Fellows memory was the trip to Alabama during her sophomore year. Abby is currently developing her Common Good Initiative around building a Leadership Fellows Alumni Network!

William McCoy is studying Environmental and Ecological Sciences with a minor in Leadership Studies. Will is from Charlotte, North Carolina (Waxhaw, specifically!), and went to a small Magnet High School. During his HS years, William was involved in many clubs including the National Honors Society, Beta Club, Student Council, and Hands Helping Others. His favorite leadership position that he held in High School was being Co-Chair of the Spirit Committee. William overlooked all student events and learned great problem-solving and communication skills that he wishes to further develop at Elon! On-campus, Will is involved with clubs such as the Spectrum Center for LGBTQIA+ students, the Sierra Student Coalition for Environmental Justice, and is hoping to become a tour guide! The philosophy that Will has on leadership is quite simple: Be kind. Listen. Respect. Act.

Caroline Moses from Pittsburgh, PA is currently an environmental & sustainability studies major and participates in the Leadership Fellows program. She is involved with the I Am That Girl club and plays for the women’s Club Rugby team. Caroline combines her passion for the environment with service by volunteering with the Office of Sustainability. In high school, Caroline founded a gender equality club and served as the captain of her lacrosse team. At Elon, she hopes to study abroad and make the most of her opportunities in and out of the leadership program, whatever that may include. Caroline cannot wait to explore other areas of study, possibly adding an additional minor or major during her time at Elon so she can branch out and gain new experiences. Outside of school, Caroline loves running and movie nights with her friends.

Mason Mosley is from Mullica Hill, New Jersey, a small town in Southern New Jersey. He graduated from Friends Central School, located in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania right outside of West Philly. While attending Friends Central, Mason was involved in numerous leadership activities including SDLC which is a nationwide leadership forum, Strive- a sports leadership camp, and ILC, a problem solving group within the Friends Central community. He was also a 3 year starter and a captain of the basketball team. Here at Elon, he is majoring in Economics, and minoring in leadership studies. He is excited about his endeavors with the Leadership Fellows Program, and has aspirations to walk on to the basketball team here as well. He looks up to his Dad, brother, and Kobe Bryant as his role models.

Lexi Mulholland is from the island of Bermuda. She was a co-Student Leader for Human Rights at her high school and advocated for inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community in her school and her island. She was involved in the small GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) and Art club in the later years of high school, and often assisted with designing and painting the sets for drama productions. In 2018, she attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN. She currently plans to major in Psychology with minors in Art and Leadership Studies. She’s already a part of the Spectrum group and plans to get involved with Elon Volunteers, specifically Kopper Top to help with therapy animals. She would love to study abroad in Amsterdam for the Gender and Sexuality course available.

Moira O’Neill is from Block Island, Rhode Island. She is currently pursuing a major is Marketing with a minor in Leadership Studies. In high school, she participated in various clubs and committees that involved volunteer events and charitable activities. Moira was an active member of national honors society and involved with student council, holding representative, secretary, treasurer, and vice president positions over four years. Moira is most passionate about her role in her local chapter of the Leo Club. During her two-term presidency the club hosted fundraiser events for local non-profits and organizations, as well as arranged trail and beach clean ups to reduce litter and plastic pollution. In 2017 Moira spearheaded the campaign to ban plastic bags in her hometown. Since then she has been in collaboration with local non-profits and activists to enforce the ban on plastic straws. Moira would love to continue her love for environmentalism by volunteering for the Office of Sustainability. Moira hopes to continue volunteering through college, as she values giving back at both Elon as well as surrounding communities.

Gillian Perilstein from Edison, NJ is a chemistry major and leadership minor. Throughout high school, Gillian spent most hours outside of school as a competitive dancer. Cultivating her love for dance with a passion for service, Gillian founded an organization which taught underprivileged immigrant children from ages 4-10 a multitude of dance styles and organized an end of year performance in front of their friends and family. At Elon, Gillian is currently a part of DanceWorks and Yoga club. In the future, Gillian hopes to join a sorority, Elon Outdoors, and become involved with service on campus. Additionally, Gillian also hopes to take advantage of study abroad and research that Elon has to offer. Gillian is so excited to see where her leadership journey takes her!

Claire Przybocki was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland and is studying for a dual degree in International Business and International Economics. She takes pride in her Leadership Studies minor, with participation in the Isabella Cannon Fellows Program. She is passionate about disparities in quality of life in developing countries, leading a project in High School to raise awareness about the lack of educational resources in South Africa, called Roots, Sports, and Abroad. Claire’s favorite class was French and plans to study French as her language at Elon. Claire is excited to get involved in Elon’s in-service programs and volunteering. Her goal is to become as globally engaged and aware as she can with her resources at Elon and use them throughout her life and career thereafter.

Leah Weinstock is from Richmond, Virginia and a proud member of the 2024 Leadership Fellows cohort. She is an outspoken and passionate individual planning to major in International Relations on a Pre-law track. She has a passion for social justice and creating change. In high school, Leah spent most of her time dedicated to leadership in BBYO, an international Jewish youth organization. She held extensive local, regional, national, and international positions and planned countless events and conventions. At her high school, she was involved in sports, theatre, political organizations, academic groups, and volunteer organizations. At Elon, despite the pandemic, she hopes to get involved with Jewish, political, social justice, and greek organizations on campus. She is thrilled to be getting to know all the other leadership fellows, students, and staff at Elon and she cannot wait for the rest of her time!
