Staff and Elon Leadership

The NC Local News Workshop is housed at the Elon University School of Communications and is being led through its launch period by Melanie Sill, a journalism veteran and former news executive. The initiative is funded by the NC Local News Lab Fund at the NC Community Foundation.

Rochelle Ford, dean of the School of Communications, and Lizzy Hazeltine, fund coordinator for the NC Local News Lab Fund,  outlined the Workshop’s launch during the Center for Cooperative Media’s Collaborative Journalism Virtual Summit.
