Global Pathfinders Orientation

The Global Pathfinders Program is an experience for a cohort of new Elon students! These students are poised to claim their global citizenship as they begin their undergraduate education. This cohort begins their Elon career by spending their first semester at University College Dublin (UCD). Together, they will embark on a journey that will include courses about Ireland, take a course that encompass Elon’s Core Curriculum, engage in COR 110: The Global Experience with an Elon faculty member, and truly experience the ideals of engaged learning by using the city of Dublin and surrounding areas to explore, learn, and grow.
The cohort begins with the Global Pathfinders Orientation (GPO). Parents and family members are encouraged to come. During this three-day, two-night program, students and families will interact with Orientation staff, meet the team of professionals who will be supporting and teaching the cohort in Ireland, and begin to forge connections to one another.
Arriving on Campus
Check-in begins at 1:00pm on July 18, in the Global Neighborhood, Building C Lobby. Parking can be found in the Global Neighborhood parking lot. Global Pathfinder Parking Map, see the maroon star. The Global Neighborhood is labeled #79 and the maroon star is the adjacent parking lot.
Driving Directions
Interstate 85/40 to Exit 140, University Dr. From Southbound 85/40, turn RIGHT. From Northbound 85/40, turn LEFT.
- Proceed straight on University Dr. for approximately 4.5 miles.
- Turn RIGHT onto O’Kelley Ave.
- Continue around the traffic circle to the right onto Phoenix Dr. The Global Neighborhood will be on your left.

Parents and family members are encouraged to come and participate in a parallel orientation experience designed with them in mind.
Accommodations
Students will room with other students in the Global Pathfinder program on campus and have all their meals covered beginning with dinner on July 18 and ending with breakfast on July 20.
While students will be staying overnight on campus, family members should plan to book a local hotel room.
