The freedom of working at my own pace and the flexibility in scheduling allowed for me to also have a summer job.
Sophie Winston is a current sophomore double majoring in English and Cinema and Television Arts. Wanting to focus on classes geared towards her major while on campus, Winston took “CSI forensic sciences” online over the summer to fulfill a core graduation requirement. Being a double major, Elon Summer provided the foundation and credit hours necessary to go abroad in the spring.
Winston had a very positive experience with Elon Summer, utilizing it to stay on track with her four-year plan. Proclaiming that the course structure allowed her to thoroughly take the time to learn material in a subject matter that didn’t come as naturally to her. Stating that the professor structured the class to where it was easy to stay on track with assignments and ask questions via office hours. Explaining that the online format provided her, “the freedom of working at my own pace and the flexibility in scheduling allowed for me to also have a summer job.” Additionally, Winston appreciated that she was still able to work collaboratively with her peers and partake in interactive group projects, just as she would have in a normal semester.
