Online Courses

If you are new to online learning or want some extra tips for success this summer, self-enroll in the Moodle Support for Students website, offered by Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT). The site is designed to introduce you to the basics of Moodle. You will learn about forums, assignments, blogs and quizzes. Additionally, there are tips for time management, stress relief, wellness and financial stability. In these sections, you are able to watch reflection videos, view helpful websites and apps, and hear tips from other college students.

Once accessed, you do not have to review every section of the site. Simply browse through the various offerings and use what you need. If you have any questions, please email TLT Student Consultants at tlt@elon.edu.

The Writing Center

A part of the Center for Writing Excellence, the Writing Center at Elon is staffed by trained peer-consultants who can help you with all of your writing projects, for any class or major and for any extracurricular, personal or professional purposes.

In one-to-one sessions of up to 45 minutes, Writing Center consultants will work with you on research or analysis papers, PowerPoint or poster presentations, resumes or job applications and more, and at any stage of the writing process including understanding an assignment, brainstorming, drafting, revising and editing, developing a research question, starting your research or writing in-text citations and bibliographies/works cited.

The Writing Center also features two multimedia production studios, so you can create and work with a consultant on your multimedia and visual texts such as PowerPoint or Prezi presentations, videos or websites. Visit our presentation practice room where you can easily record and critique yourself giving a presentation and get feedback from a consultant on your accompanying visuals.

Take advantage of this excellent academic resource and include a visit to the Writing Center as part of your writing process.

Religious Holidays Policy

In supporting religious diversity, Elon’s Religious Holidays Policy allows an excused absence for students who wish to observe religious holidays that are in conflict with the academic calendar. Students who wish to observe a holiday during the semester must complete the online Religious Observance Notification Form (RONF) by September 10, 2019.

This policy does not apply during the final examination period. Students are required to make prior arrangements with instructors for completion of any work missed during the absence. Once the completed RONF is received, the Truitt Center will email the student and instructors that a RONF has been submitted. Students may contact Truitt Center staff with any questions at (336) 278-7729.
