Stud-a-Thon

One of our chapter’s fundraising events is the Stud-a-Thon, in partnership with Elon’s Interfraternity Council. The event engages students on campus with the Habitat chapter and helps educate them on the lack of affordable housing. Each fraternity and our campus chapter paint a wooden stud that ends up in this year’s Elon-sponsored house, have a fundraising competition between themselves where all funds go to fund that house, and participate as volunteers at builds shifts for that Habitat house.

Students across campus can participate in our Stud-a-Thon by donating money to vote on their favorite stud or by supporting the fraternity of their choice (or our Habitat chapter) in the online fundraising competition. Details of the inaugural Stud-a-Thon in 2017-18 are here. We hope to further this partnership with the IFC as the years go on to continue building the awareness of housing and food insecurity in the Alamance community and encouraging others to get involved.

Shop at or Donate to the ReStore

Students are welcome to support the local Habitat ReStore by purchasing furniture and other home supplies for incredibly affordable prices! Whether you need a new lamp, desk, chairs, or something else for your home at Elon, stop by the ReStore to get what you need while making a difference in the community. Also, consider donating your furniture or home goods there. The ReStore accepts both new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, and household items. You can drop them off or arrange for a pick-up if items are too big to fit in your car.
