I have read and fully understand the waiver and release of liability found below and on the race information website. By checking this box, I acknowledge that I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating and agree to all terms and conditions. Visit the race website


  1. Assumption of Risk: I understand that participating in a 5k road race involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, and road conditions. I acknowledge that these risks may result in serious injury or death, and I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in this event.
  2. Release of Liability: I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby release, waive, and discharge the HOPE Clinic at Elon University, its officers, directors, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (collectively "Releasees"), from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, or causes of action of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise.
  3. Medical Consent: I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for participation in this event, and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person. I consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during the event.
  4. Compliance with Rules: I agree to abide by all rules and instructions of the event organizers and understand that failure to comply with such rules may result in disqualification and removal from the event.
  5. Photography and Media Release: I grant permission to the HOPE Clinic at Elon University to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose, including advertising and promotional materials, without any compensation to me.
  6. Severability: If any portion of this waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.

Other Disclaimers: Registration fees for the Race for HOPE 5k are nonrefundable, regardless of weather conditions, including rain or any other adverse weather. The event will proceed as planned rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the organizers or officers on site and thus the participants will be promptly notified. In such a case, the race will not be rescheduled and an alternate date for race shirt pick-up will be determined, but no refunds will be issued.
