Brief Biography

My teaching interests are varied. They include: the psychology of criminal behavior, including serial killers and mass murderers; conformity, persuasion, and dictatorships; espionage and counter-espionage; and animal behavior.

My research interests include: the psychology of beliefs; prejudice and discrimination, especially as directed against atheists; serial killers.

I'm working with two colleagues to put together a survey investigating former members of religious congreagations. The reasons for their withdrawal from their congreagation, as well as emotional consequences will be examined.
