Brief Biography
Brian Kremer is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Music Theatre Program at Elon University. He is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of versatile and innovative musical theatre artists. Kremer teaches courses in contemporary vocal styles, musical theatre performance, and professional practices, emphasizing stylistic versatility, healthy vocal technique, and holistic career development.
Kremer’s students have enjoyed successful careers in Broadway productions, national tours, regional theatre, film, television, and diverse roles throughout the performing arts industry—including casting, talent representation, directing, and choreography. Through his teaching and mentorship, he strives to help students achieve artistic authenticity, industry readiness, and sustainable careers.
As an active researcher and advocate for inclusive voice pedagogy, Kremer co-authored The Singing Teacher’s Guide to Transgender Voices (Plural Publishing, 2018; 2026), a leading resource for educators of transgender and nonbinary singers. His research on consent-based educational practices has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he frequently presents at universities, conferences, and organizations, such as NATS, The Voice Foundation, ICVT, SETC, and MTEA. He has also served as a guest speaker and teacher at institutions including Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute, New England Conservatory, University of North Texas, The Muny’s BFA Bootcamp, Young Artists of America, Southeastern Summer Theatre Institute, and The Broadway Artists Intensive.
Kremer is committed to ongoing professional development. He holds certifications from Penn State’s Academy for Holistic Reimagining of the Recruitment, Mentoring, and Retention of Racially Minoritized Faculty and in inclusive teaching from Elon University. He is an Affiliate Faculty member with Theatrical Intimacy Education, focusing on singing and vocal pedagogy, and completed the national ATHE Leadership Institute.
