Brief Biography

Paula is a Professor of Professional Writing & Rhetoric focusing on multimedia rhetoric and writing technolgies. Her areas of research include writing beyond the university, writing transfer, the non-academic writing lives of students, AI writing strategies/pedaogies, and the AI writing lives of alumni/professsionals. Currently the Director of Writing Across the University in the Center for Writing Excellence, Paula previoulsy served as the College Writing Coordinator (2002-2005) and the Writing Center Director (2005-2016). She led Elon's 5-year Writing Excellence Initiative, which enhanced the teaching and learning of writing across all majors and in Student Life.
