Brief Biography
Served 10 years in Division I college athletic administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Siena College, Iona College and the University of Connecticut. Coached college and high school basketball and gained practical experience in financial organizations before moving into athletic administration. Research focus is on the administration of college athletics. In particular, the decision making process of higher education administrators on the role athletics has to the larger university community. Named the 2015 Sport Management Educator of the Year by the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance and Sport Management (NCAAHPERD-SM) and was featured in the 2016 President's Report for his work on college athletics. Has been at Elon since 2004 and became Chair of the Department of Sport Management in December 2015.
