Brief Biography

Alison supports all students, but with a focus on School of Communications students, with their professional development.  She advises students in one-on-one appointments and can assist with resumes and cover letters, career/major exploration, interview prep, job and internship search, LinkedIn, and e-portfolios.  Her goal is to proactively inform, guide, and empower students so they can problem-solve, make informed decisions, and develop holistically, allowing them to reach their full potential.

She also serves as Director of the PACE (Providing Aid Through Campus Employment) Program, which provides on-campus job opportunites for incoming first-year students with financial need.  Once accepted into the program, PACE students keep their job for all four years.  In addition to providing a degree of financial relief, the program also offers students an opportunity to establish relationships across campus and gain valuable work experience.  Current PACE students can be found all over campus, in jobs that include working alongside faculty with their research, assisting in offices within the Student Life division, supporting local high school students through the Elon Academy, working with Elon Athletics, and many more.

Prior to this position, Alison served as a Career Advising Fellow at Elon for the 2019-2020 academic year.  She is also a proud Elon graduate with a background in education, and has previously worked as a special education resource teacher for grades K-2.
