Brief Biography

Megan Hernandez-Greene is a first-generation college graduate from Texas. In May 2020 she graduated cum laude from Elon University as an Odyssey Scholar with her B.A. in Religious Studies and minors in Anthropology, Asian Studies and History. During the Fall semester of her junior year, she studied abroad in Osaka, Japan, attending Kansai Gaidai University. Following graduation, she went on to complete a year service fellowship with Repair the World in Detroit, Michigan. Afterwards, she moved back home to Texas and went into the education sector as a Before and After School Teacher. She gained her ESL certification and voluntarily taught English as a second language to adults in the DFW area.

Seeing herself as a storyteller and story collector, being in international education drives her passion for people to write their own stories and see how they have a role in the wider global story that is unraveling around us each day. She is a firm believer that study away experiences not only help us learn more about ourselves but how we can grow in community with others.

In August of 2023, Megan joined the Isabella Cannon Global Education Center as a Program Coordinator. She currently advises for Asia, Field Studies programs (SIT & SFS), UK (England & Scotland), and Ireland.
