Brief Biography

Xin Liu joined Elon's faculty in 2017 after completing her Ph.D. in Management Science with the concentration of Operations and Supply Chain Management from University of Science and Technology of China. She has worked in UNC Charlotte. At Elon, Dr. Liu teaches courses of Management Information System, Ops and Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Distribution, Supply Chain Management Performance and Advanced Ops and Supply Chain Management. Her research centers around operations management, supply chain management and marketing interface. She has several publications on top-tier jounals, such as Omega European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Operational Research Society, etc. She serves as reviewer for several top-tier academic journals .

Research

Dr. Liu's main research interest is in the area of Operations Management, Supply Chain management, Marketing Interface and Retailing Operation. Currently she is doing research of retailer's price protection policy, retailer's strategies at the presence of off-price retailing channels, impacts of cost learning effect, and interesting issues in E-commerce, by mathematical modeling and algorithms.
