Catholic Life is a welcoming and vibrant community on the Elon campus. We serve Catholic students, faculty, staff, the surrounding community, as well as those interested in learning more about the Catholic tradition. All are invited to join us in living and celebrating a life grounded in faith, nurtured by hope, and sustained by love.

Celebration of Faith

Our community gathers for Mass on Sundays during the academic year at 10:00AM in the Numen Lumen Pavilion and at 5:00PM in the Elon Community Church. We also offer daily Masses, Adoration on the first Friday of every month, regular small group meetings, and several activities every week and month. Visit the CCM website for the most up-to-date schedule.

If you ever need some time for prayer, you can request access to our Eucharistic chapel located in Holt Chapel on South Campus.

Student-led Activities

We have events and programs led by incredible student leaders throughout the year including dinners, retreats, holiday gatherings, and more. We host small groups and speakers, leadership and internship opportunities, and we serve others in need both locally and on our spring break service trips. All events are open to the entire campus, so come check us out, and invite a friend!

Our Catholic Home

Our ministry makes our home at the Catholic center, affectionately known as the “CCM House,” located at 515 E College Ave, across from the East residential neighborhood and adjacent to the Historic parking lot. The CCM House offers students a hangout space, coffee bar, meeting room, small group space, and a kitchen! All are invited to stop by anytime and make the CCM House your home. Coffee and snacks are always provided.

Empowered by the Spirit

Since 1977, Catholic life at Elon has been a sponsored ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, supported by a campus priest and a professional lay team. As expressed by the U.S. Bishops’ pastoral letter Empowered by the Spirit, “Campus ministry gathers the Catholics on campus for prayer, worship, and learning in order that they might bring the light of the Gospel to illumine the concerns and hopes of the academic community.”

According to the university’s latest enrollment report, approximately 1,400 undergraduates self-identify as belonging to the Catholic faith tradition.  This comprises over 20% of the total undergraduate population, making Catholicism the largest single faith community on Elon’s campus (among students who disclosed their religious tradition). Catholic life enhances the student experience on the university campus and creates an encouraging space for students to engage in their faith at a pivotal stage of formation in their lives.
