Go 4 College

A grant from the College Board is providing college-access opportunities for Cummings High School students. The grant funds six visits to the Elon campus for students in grades 9-12 Visits are designed to motivate young people, who may not realize their potential due to economic adversity or lack of role models with higher education backgrounds, to attend college. Go 4 College includes four major components: exposure to a college campus, experience in actual college classrooms, encouragement and information about college admissions. This also provides an opportunity for counselors to stay up-to-date on current college admissions requirements. The Go 4 College program is a partnership between Elon University, Cummings High School, Elon’s Multicultural Center, Alamance Citizens for Education, the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce, and the “What’s After High School?” program of the Alamance-Burlington School System.
