This summer, Health Promotion, including the SPARKS peer educators, combined with Campus Recreation to become Campus Recreation & Wellness. Our new department provides a variety of recreational and educational facilities, programs, and services across five programmatic areas designed to help students, faculty, and staff be well and live their best lives. The programmatic areas are Facilities, Student Wellness Programs, Fitness Programs, Sport Programs, and Experiential Learning & Outdoor Adventures. Opening Weekend Hours
As we welcome students back to campus and transition to the new academic year, Campus Recreation & Wellness will have adjusted hours through opening weekend. Campus Recreation & Wellness is the largest employer on campus with more than 200 student employees, and we are hiring for several positions this fall. The application process opens on Monday, August 27 and the deadline to apply is Monday, September 3 at 5:00pm. Six Weeks of Wellness
Throughout the first six weeks of the semester we are offering several programs to educate students on a variety of wellness and mental health topics. Check out the full Six Weeks of Wellness schedule here. If you have any questions about a wellness related topic and you would like to talk to another student, visit the SPARKS office on the first floor of the Moseley Center or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you get connected.
Join us on Saturday, August 25 from 9:30pm-1:00am for the Koury Kickoff, a new event that has several activities such as a climbing wall, group exercise classes, S’mores with Outdoors, giant Jenga, kayaking, and sport challenges, as well as tables throughout the Alumni Gym concourse to learn about a variety of campus wellness and well-being resources. Group Exercise Fall Schedule
Our fall group exercise schedule includes 25 RecWell and 10 Fac/Staff Wellness classes each week. A RecWell pass is only $20 for the entire year. Passes can be purchased in the Campus Recreation & Wellness Office in Koury 101 Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. We also offer private classes for groups and organizations. Intramural Block 1 Registration
Registration for Block 1 intramurals opens on Tuesday, August 28. Block 1 sports include outdoor soccer, cornhole, outdoor basketball, and softball. We’re also starting a new sport this year – FLOOR HOCKEY!!! – to open up the new South Gym facility. Check out the intramural website for more information or contact us at email@example.com.
Elon Outdoors Fall Calendar
Elon Outdoors offers a variety of ways to get involved this semester, whether you want to be introduced to a new activity, learn a new skill, or practice a skill. We also have an awesome inventory of rental equipment available to students, faculty, and staff, including a new fleet of kayaks and mountain bikes!
