Brief Biography
Dr. Lindsay Pieper studies gender-based policies in sport. She is the author of Sex Testing: Gender Policing in Women’s Sport (University of Illinois Press) and Women in the Olympics (Common Ground Research Networks). Her research has been featured in various academic journals and she writes reports for the Women’s Sport Foundation that address gender equity in the Olympic and Paralympic Movements. Since 2020, Dr. Pieper has served as the Secretary of the North American Society for Sport History. She received her master’s degree in History and her Ph.D. in Sport Humanities from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining Elon University, Dr. Pieper served as the chair of the Sport Management Department at the University of Lynchburg.
