An April 21 dinner and induction ceremony included an address from Joseph Francisco, a Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar and professor of chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania.

Sturgill, an associate professor of journalism at Elon University, was part of a panel organized by the McClatchy news organization on election disinformation with the Raleigh News & Observer.

Elon's new interdisciplinary minor in Poverty and Social Justice was the topic of a presentation at the international organization for service-learning and civic engagement.

A team of students, faculty, and alumni from Elon University's School of Communications spent a week in June in Ekaterinburg, Russia, covering the 2014 International Collegiate Programming Contest in video, photo, social media and text.

A group of iMedia students and two faculty members travel in January to Puntarenas, Costa Rica, to collaborate with indigenous groups as part of the graduate program's "Fly-In" component.
