Family Weekend FAQ

How do I get to Elon?

Elon Admissions offers printer-friendly directions and a map for those visiting campus.

Take Interstate 85/40 to exit 140 University Drive/Elon. If you are driving from Durham and points east, take a right at the end of the ramp. If you are driving from Greensboro and points west, take a left at the end of the ramp and cross over the highway overpass.

Follow the signs for University Drive and continue for 2.5-3 miles. Continue on University Drive approximately one mile, proceeding through the stoplight at Williamson Avenue/N.C. 87. Turn right at the next stoplight for O'Kelly Avenue.

Make your second right off the traffic circle to remain on O'Kelly Avenue.  You may park in the McMichael Science Center and Colonnades Residential parking lots, which are located in the heart of campus. Find these parking lots on the Elon campus map

Yes. All Elon students receive free admission to all of our athletic events. At the football stadium, the student sections are all general admission in sections 104, 105, and 106. Anyone who would like to sit with their son or daughter at the game will need to purchase an extra ticket for them in the section where you are sitting. Otherwise, students may sit in the designated student sections listed above.

Will wheelchairs be available for those that need one?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide wheelchairs, but if you contact William’s Medical Supply (336-449-7357) they will  take your order and payment, then deliver the chair to the Moseley Center for your convenience.

If I want to cancel my registration, can I get a refund?

Once you register, we start planning for you!  As a result, we commit the funds to vendors and associated expenses.  That means we are only able to offer refunds for the ticketed events through September 8, 2014.  Unfortunately we are not able to offer a refund for the registration fee.  To request a refund, please email Meghan Fisher at familyweekend@elon.edu.  A refund should appear on your credit card statement within 6-8 weeks.

What does the administrative fee cover?

Your registration fee helps cover many of the administrative costs associated with the event including staff for the event, Faculty Concert, sibling activities, mini-classes, campus movie, and Coffee with the President.
