In this course, students use MATLAB to generate, transform, visualize, analyze, and model relationships in data from a variety of dynamic systems. Throughout this course, students learn to seek out data through analytical solutions, simulations, and experimental tests with physical systems. They learn to analyze data with time series response, root-locus, and frequency response methods. By the end of the course, students understand which data collection and data analysis methods are appropriate given a specific system and problem statement. For the final project, students construct their own mechanism, collect data from testing the mechanism, and design a controller. Achieves technology student learning outcomes b-e.
