STC 4520
In this course, students design and execute primary research projects which can include qualitative (interview, focus groups) and quantitative (survey, content analysis) data. Students will collect, analyze, visualize and draw conclusions based on research data. Students will think critically to determine: (a) what questions they need answered to design effective campaigns (data they need); (b) who is in their target audience and where they might access these individuals (data sources); (c) an appropriate research method for their questions and audience (context in which data are produced). Students will apply findings in making decisions for their strategic campaign planning for the rest of the semester.
