Founded in 1889, Elon University has been strengthened by the support, loyalty, and guidance of a dedicated group of individuals who volunteer to serve as members of the Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees has ultimate corporate and fiduciary responsibility for Elon University. The board is responsible for the university’s long-term health, oversight for its strategic direction, educational policy, finances and operations, and for advancing the mission of the university.

Governance of the university is shared with the faculty, as individuals who serve in leadership roles, with committees that provide recommendations on important aspects of university operations, and as a legislative body with authority over much of the policy and administrative work of the university.

This website provides information about the Board of Trustees to members of the Elon University community.
