Brief Biography
My evolutionary energetics research focuses on understaning how and why primates (including humans) allocate energy to different physiological demands (body maintenance, growth, reproduction, physical activity) in different ecological settings and across different lifestyles. I also study how animals physiologically manage periods of extreme energy expenditure. My background is in evolutionary anthropology and I still explore questions related to paleoecology and human evolution, particularly hominin life history evolution in the Turkana Basin of northern Kenya.
I am excited to work with students who are interested in both laboratory and field-based research.
