Brief Biography

Julian Stetkevych is a professional actor and teacher of acting, voice, and movement at Elon University.

During his eight years in New York City, he acted for and worked with Classic Stage Company, Playwright’s Horizons, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Flux Theatre Ensemble, Theatre 1010, Packawallop Productions, and Oxford Shakespeare Co., among others. Regionally, he has appeared at the American Conservatory Theater, The Steppenwolf Theater, and Theo Ubique in Chicago and multiple productions at Virginia Stage Company in Norfolk. He was a teaching artist for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, teaching at schools around the New York City area and their summer program in the Hudson Valley, and comes to Elon after seven years of teaching at Christopher Newport University in Virginia.

He is a member of the professional union Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and a member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education and the Mid-America Theatre Conference, and has presented at their annual conferences. He is also a member of the Michael Chekhov Association (MICHA) and a Certified Teacher of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique through both MICHA and the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium. Additionally, he is also a member of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers.
