Brief Biography
Since 1999, I have enjoyed working at Elon University. Starting as a temporary, part-time staff member in the School of Communications (TV Services) and appreciating the supportive environment, I began pursuing a permanent, full-time position. I worked in The Office of Residence Life for 17 years which gave me the opportunity of connecting with many offices all over campus and getting to work with and build relationships with faculty, staff and students. For 5 years I worked in the position as the Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Dean of Students which deepened my experience in supporting students, broadening my connections with my colleagues and the campus community. The work in the Office of the Dean of Students has given me a deeper appreciation of the care and support that we provide to our students. Currently I am in a new role still with the Office of the Dean of Students, starting a new and exciting career path of being the Student Health Insurance Project Manager in which I oversee the compliance process for the Student Health Insurance Requirement.
I also have had an amazing experience working with a local non-profit, the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation Tribe, indigeneous peoples of Alamance, Orange and Caswell counties. Elon has been a constant, consistent supporter with the Occaneechi Tribe (OBSN) and one our most valued community partners. I am currently the OBSN website manager and a Tribal Council member.
