Brief Biography

Anthony is a full-time core faculty member in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies here at Elon University. Anthony holds a B.A. in Psychology, a B.S. in Biology, and a Minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he graduated with honors. He is a graduate and alum of the Medical University of South Carolina where he obtained his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2013. He recently completed his Doctor of Medical Science degree with a concentration in Medical Education in December 2023 from the University of Lynchburg.

He has an extensive background in internal medicine with a focus on treating and managing cardiovascular, pulmonary, and endocrine disorders, bringing to Elon an expansive knowledge from a large base of medicine. He has worked with non-profit healthcare organizations within underserved rural communities and with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, serving as "team leader" and primary care provider for a panel of approximately 900 veterans.

Anthony is passionate about humanities, community service, health equity, and justice. He currently serves on multiple committees at the department, school, university, and national levels. His current research interests and projects involve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), advancement of the physician assistant profession, social determinants, and racial disparities in healthcare. In his spare time, he enjoys playing pickleball and chess, watching movies, traveling, dining, and spending time with family and friends.
