Ashley Thomas

With great pleasure I have the opportunity to further my knowledge and hone my craft as a Graduate Trainee here at Elon's Counseling Services. I received my B.A in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology and a minor in Spanish from the UNCG in 2019. I am now working towards my master's degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at Bradley University. I am passionate about destigmatizing counseling in underserved communities and bringing representation to the field. Counseling is for everyone and does not have a 'one size fits all model' as we are all unique individuals. Clinically, I am interested in assisting with transitional periods, grief, anxiety, and depression. Some theories that I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family and friends, trying new restaurants (or going to my favorite for the 100th time), binge watching a good show, cooking, traveling, and exploring a new thing. I recently picked up tennis as a new hobby and I'm excited to invest some time into that.
