Brief Biography

As Assistant Director of Development, Cole builds meaningful relationships with Elon parents and alumni primarily in North Carolina, Virginia and Florida to foster their connection, support, and engagement with the university. His efforts play a vital role in advancing University Advancement’s mission, with a strong focus on enhancing student experiences and furthering Elon’s strategic priorities.

Cole has remained deeply connected to Elon through both his professional roles and campus involvement. He taught Elon 1010 in 2021 and 2022 and served as a Facilitator for the inaugural Elon Early Career Institute (EECI) in 2023–2024, mentoring six staff members through a yearlong professional development experience. Cole began his Elon journey as a University Advancement Fellow in January 2017 and has since held multiple roles, including Coordinator and Senior Coordinator of Annual Giving, where he helped lead the Faculty/Staff Giving Program and Reunions program, followed by Assistant Director of Annual Giving, and later Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Leadership Giving Officer with a focus on leadership-level support.

Cole earned his BA in Communications from Elon University in 2016 and completed his MBA through the Love School of Business in 2021. In November 2023, he achieved his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential. Outside of work, Cole is actively involved in his church community and plays drums in the worship band. He is also a proud husband to Ashlyn ’16 and father to two sons, Banks and Gentry.
