Brief Biography

Christopher Scott is a physical therapist and educator passionate about developing the next generation of clinicians through inclusive, innovative, and student-centered clinical education. He currently serves as the Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Elon University. In addition to his academic role, Christopher continues to provide patient care as a home health therapist. His clinical background spans home health, acute care, and inpatient rehab. He is especially interested in mentorship, burnout prevention, and creating more equitable learning environments within clinical education in physical therapy education.

Current Projects

I am currently engaged in two academic research projects that explore distinct yet complementary areas within health and education. The first project investigates the impact of didactic knowledge retention and application following clinical rotations. This study aims to understand how theoretical instruction translates into practical competence, with implications for curriculum design and long-term professional development.

My second project focuses on community health and aging, specifically evaluating a telehealth exercise program designed for individuals living with dementia and other forms of brain change. This initiative seeks to assess the program’s accessibility, engagement outcomes, and overall benefits for cognitive and physical health, contributing to the growing field of remote care and support for neurodivergent populations.
