Diane Swenson

Diane Swenson is a dynamic marketing professional with over a decade of experience in marketing and leadership, specializing in enhancing digital profiles and social media reach to propel organizational growth. 

Before joining Elon University, Diane was the Assistant Director for Communications at Western Carolina University, where she developed and executed marketing strategies, optimized team efforts with new technologies, and managed significant marketing and programming budgets.

Diane's career also includes experience as an E-Commerce & Social Media Coordinator at Balsam Mountain Inn, where she successfully increased customer engagement through innovative social media content and established efficient online sales operations. She also worked as a Persona Analyst at Proxy Solutions, utilizing market research tools to gather and interpret data, providing valuable insights and recommendations to clients for their target audiences.

Diane holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mars Hill University. She also has an Associate of Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Colorado Technical University.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Diane has participated in community initiatives as a local community theatre's Marketing & PR Chair. Her diverse background includes roles as a Social Worker for the Swain County Department of Social Services and a Parent Educator for the Swain County Family Resource Center.
