Brief Biography

Emily Krechel is the Director of New Student Programs. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from James Madison University, Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University - Ohio, and Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Emily began her career in higher education in 2010 as the Area Director for the First-Year Experience at Earlham College. Following that, she headed west and served as the Associate Director of New Student Services at the University of California, Berkeley for five years. In 2017, Emily returned to the east coast to begin her journey as the Director of New Student Programs here at Elon. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, camping, snowboarding, entertaining at home with her wife, and visiting family in Virginia.
