Brief Biography
Dr. Emily Yttri is an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics in the Love School of Business at Elon University. Her research focuses on data privacy and security, with an emphasis on consumer behavior and how individuals respond to privacy choices. She earned her Ph.D. in Information Systems & Technology Management from the University of Pittsburgh, where her dissertation examined the impact of online privacy defaults on user decision-making. Dr. Yttri's work advances understanding of the psychological and behavioral factors that shape consumer responses to data collection. She is committed to helping students critically engage with the ethical and societal implications of data use in business. She teaches courses in business analytics, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and analytical methods
