Brief Biography
Gia joined the Global Education Center team in January 2023. In her role at the GEC, Gia manages faculty-led short-term programs.
Both Gia (’17) and her older sister Alaina (’09) are Elon graduates and former Art History department darlings (#LMTAH). As a student, Gia was lucky enough to study LGBTQ life in Denmark, go on an archaeological dig in Belize, and learn about the Civil Rights Movement in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama as an Isabella Cannon Leadership Fellow.
After graduating from Elon, Gia continued her education globally by studying agriculture in Cuba and fermentation ware in South Korea while completing her Master’s in Food Studies at NYU. She also received two U.S. State Department grants, the Critical Language Scholarship and the Fulbright, to study and work in South Korea.
Outside the office, Gia is known for her hatred of driving and love of 90s sitcoms and tollers (for those who know, you know).
