Brief Biography
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2016, I have experience in multiple settings and have been fortunate to work with people in a wide range of circumstances from various backgrounds. As a result, I integrate a variety of clinical approaches and theoretical frameworks to enhance students’ abilities to overcome life difficulties. It is important to me to take a nonjudgmental stance as I encourage exploration and work as a partner to find healthy solutions. My experience includes a focus in interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and finding balance. I welcome the opportunity to offer a compassionate and safe space for all and am dedicated to supporting the unique experiences and challenges of marginalized populations.
I graduated from the Joint Master of Social Work Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I have experience working as a school social worker, therapist (Outpatient and In-Home Treatment Services), and the Department of Social Services (Child Protective Services).
I appreciate the opportunity to learn new skills and about different cultures. I am currently enjoying learning and practicing different ways to propagate plants! My name (Itumeleng) roughly translates to joy/rejoice and is a pretty accurate description of my general personality.
