Jerry Williams

As Assistant Director of Information Systems/Systems Engineer, Jerry Williams is responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of Elon’s systems infrastructure and working with the campus community to ensure technology projects fit well within that infrastructure. This involves planning and development of the deployed systems technology and requires a thorough knowledge of system technologies. 

Previously Jerry served as a Systems Administrator at Elon University for 15 years and implemented many new technology solutions that built the foundation for Elon.  In this role, he was responsible for the design and implementation of the Elon Active Directory domain, user account creation, Email solutions from local Exchange and now to cloud provided Gmail for students and Office 365 for faculty and staff.  He was also involved in the infrastructure design in its inception and growth from stand-alone servers to the virtual infrastructure now in place.  

Before Elon, Jerry held Systems Adminstration and Helpdesk Associate positions for GMAC, Integon, and Bankers & Shippers Insurance.  Jerry is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
