Brief Biography

Professor Caudle teaches Legal Method & Communication courses at Elon’s Greensboro and Charlotte law campuses. He has also served as a Guest Lecturer and Co-Teaching Instructor for Western Carolina University’s Graduate Educational Leadership program and as an Adjunct Professor in Alternative Dispute Resolution at UNC-Charlotte. His scholarship lies in the field of Education Law with a focus on the intersection of constitutional rights, particularly the First Amendment’s Free Speech and Establishment Clauses, and the administration of public education.

Prior to joining the law faculty, Professor Caudle practiced Education Law in North Carolina, where he represented local boards of education in a variety of contract, tort and employment matters, with a focus on special education, Title IX and appellate litigation. He is the former Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Education Section and a frequent presenter on administrative issues for educational organizations, as well as the North Carolina Bar Association.

Professor Caudle graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a B.A. in History. He earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill School of Law, where he served as the Executive Editor of the First Amendment Law Review.

Professor Caudle is a native North Carolinian and first-generation lawyer.
