Brief Biography
Ronice Johnson-Guy serves as the Director of Study USA at Elon University, where she leads domestic study-away programs designed to provide students with transformative learning experiences across the United States. She is passionate about creating inclusive opportunities that empower students to grow personally and professionally through exposure to diverse communities and environments.
With over two decades of experience in higher education, Ronice brings expertise in student development, diversity and inclusion, and global partnerships. A proud Fulbright grantee, she traveled to Germany and Belgium to engage in cross-cultural learning, further enriching her global perspective. She earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, where she focused her research on leadership and cross-cultural mentorship.
Ronice is a passionate speaker and lifelong learner who shares her journey of perseverance and success to inspire and empower others. Her dedication to student success is rooted in her own experiences as a first-generation college student and her commitment to fostering opportunities for students from marginalized communities.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ronice is a creative soul who enjoys storytelling and community engagement. A finalist in the American Black Film Festival and an accomplished playwright, she uses her love for the arts to connect with diverse audiences. She is also a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, sharing her time to help guide and inspire the next generation.
In her free time, Ronice enjoys cooking, traveling internationally with her husband Shawn, and playing with her puppy, Cooper.
