Elon graduate Trey Bailey '02 and his wife Marci were guest speakers in a Marketing Princples class taught by Dr. Michael Rodriguez. Trey, an LSB alum, is the owner of Bailey's Fine Jewelry.
Trey and Marci spoke to the class about buzz marketing and reaching out to consumers in unique and memorable ways, and talked about how they came up with company’s Finders Keepers promotion, in which the company leaves a “Bailey’s Box” with a pearl bracelet and a finders keepers note to unsuspecting and random recipients. Trey and Marci also shared their insights into sales, entrepreneurship, and customer relation management.
Bailey’s Fine Jewelry is a family-owned business with stores in Raleigh, Greensville, and Rocky Mount. Trey assumed the family business after graduating from Elon in 2002 and pursuing training in gemnology.
