The Bias Education and Response Process addresses harm caused by identity-based bias within our community. This process uses educational and restorative approaches to support affected individuals and engages reported individuals in meaningful learning opportunities, if they choose to participate. The Bias Education and Response Process is non-disciplinary in nature and does not impose sanctions against those who may have engaged in identity-based bias. However, when actions or behaviors violate the University Honor Code, Employee Handbook policies, or the Statement of Nondiscrimination, bias-related events may be referred to and reviewed by appropriate offices like the Office of Student Conduct, the Office of Civil Rights and Compliance, Human Resources, and/or Campus Safety and Police.
