¡Bienvenidos al Centro!

El Centro fosters an environment that promotes celebration, collaboration, dialogue, and research to support advocacy, cultural appreciation, and academic achievement related to Latin American cultures and the Spanish language. It serves as an educational and cultural hub for all students, faculty, and staff, encouraging engagement, cultural awareness, and community service in partnership with the Latinx/Hispanic community. El Centro is committed to inclusivity and ensures that all individuals, regardless of race, color, or national origin, have equal access to its programs and activities.

The Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education (CREDE)

The CREDE and El Centro advance campus-wide conversations that further develop intercultural competence. We provide advocacy, services, and programs to promote the intellectual achievement, personal success, and social belonging of all students, faculty, and staff, with particular attention to those from underrepresented and historically marginalized communities.

We ensure that everyone, regardless of race, color, or national origin, has equal opportunities to participate in our programs and activities.

El Centro started with a simple idea: a space to celebrate Latinx and Hispanic cultures and share them with Elon’s campus. Since then, we’ve filled this space with events, classes, celebrations, and a lot of laughter. This video is a look at where that came from and what it’s grown into. But honestly, the best way to understand it is to walk through the door yourself and be part of the community that makes the space what it is.
