Celebrating 30 years of academic excellence

African & African-American Studies at Elon (AAASE) was developed in 1994. The pedagogy, research, scholarship, service — and other experiential learning activities of our faculty and student scholars — take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of African Americans, Africa and the rest of its diaspora.

As we approach the momentous occasion of the 30th anniversary of the African and African American Studies minor, a myriad of meticulously planned events, workshops, and community engagement initiatives are underway, serving as a testament to the profound breadth, depth and enduring legacy of this remarkable minor.
