I’m interested in applying …

When are grants accepted?

  • Standard Grants are accepted by ATC on a continuing basis from Planning Week (late August) to April 1st of the same academic year.
  • Expedited Grants are accepted year-round, including summer and winter terms.

How do I know if my grant meets the intended purpose of these funds?

Review the Grant Rubric and consider the guidelines that are offered.

Who should I contact if I have a question about my grant application?

Contact the Chair of ATC.

I’m not sure if the technology I would like to purchase is already available at Elon. How can I check?

Visit the IT Self-Service Portal and search for the name or function of the tool. If you still aren’t sure, contact IT. They would be happy to help.

I’d like to talk to someone before I apply to consider how this tool would best support instruction and how I could consider using the tool effectively. Who do I contact?

Schedule a consultation with Teaching and Learning Technologies. An instructional technologist would be happy to consult with you, learn what you are trying to accomplish, and provide some guidance.

I’ve already purchased a tool. Can I submit a grant to cover something I’ve already purchased?

No, ATC will not consider reimbursement of technology already purchased with other funding.

I’ve applied …

I’ve submitted my grant application. What happens next?

Expedited Grants: During the regular semester (not during breaks/holidays, winter term, or summer), the Chair will respond typically within a week. If you are awarded the grant, the email will include details on next steps.

Standard Grants:

  • During the regular semester (not during breaks/holidays, winter term, or summer), the Chair will post your grant application for review by the ATC Committee typically within a week. Committee members are given about a week to review, ask questions, and vote on the application. Should questions emerge, the Chair may reach out to the applicant to seek further clarification.
  • While much of the review and voting process occurs online, some applications require further Committee discussion in person. The Committee meets monthly, so some applications may require a month or more before a final decision is rendered. Please be sure you apply with enough time to allow for this.
  • You will hear back from the Chair with the final outcome. If you are awarded the grant, the email will include details on next steps.
